Proof of Transverse Nature of Electromagnetic Wave
With the help of Maxwell’s first two equations we can show; Transverse Nature of Electromagnetic Waves, second concept is of wave vector denoted by k. The wave vector signifies the direction of propagation of waves, if the scalar product of any vector field with the wave vector is zero it means the angle between them is of 90 degree which shows that the component of the field is perpendicular to the direction of propagation.
